Former England manager Glenn Hoddle believes Cole Palmer has the potential to overtake Phil Foden as a top player in the future football.

The Chelsea star has been in scintillating form since moving to Stamford Bridge. Scoring 29 goals in 43 games and becoming one of the league’s top performers at the moment UFABET

Asked which players England should prioritise for the 2026 World Cup. Hoddle told Stick to Football on Sky Sports: “I’ve always had Phil Foden as a top player.”

“He didn’t do well at the Euros and didn’t do what I thought he would do. I think Foden has a special talent but the key is whether. He can do what he did for Man City in an England shirt.”

“Cole Palmer looks incredible. He’s an interesting one because if he doesn’t get caught up in the game. For me he’s a player who plays on the playground. He can become a superstar and maybe surpass Foden in many ways.”

“The question is can he do that in the next seasons because we all know what he’s going through. The ups and downs he’s going to have. The injuries he’s going to have, the dips in form. There’s a lot he’s going to have to go through to be a star. I think he can do it.”
