Despite reaching the semi-finals, France’s exit was a disappointing tournament due to poor form. With Les Bleus scoring just one goal in open play and a number of other less-than-impressive performances.
However, French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo said there was no reason to question Deschamps’ future.
“The results speak for themselves and the goals that have been achieved. Didier will continue his mission,” he told L’Equipe.
“We will talk in the next few days to do a deep analysis of what we missed in the semi-finals and what we can do to move forward.”
“During this month I have seen a lot of professionalism and performances of excellence. We need to get the French team moving in the right direction.”
